In 1967, The Spring Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam, a coalition of peace and Civil Rights activist groups, joined forces to organize large-scale antiwar protests in New York and San Francisco. More than 70,000 people marched from Market Street to Golden Gate Park to protest U.S. involvement in Vietnam.
