Involuntary Memories, 2014
Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum
Yorba Linda, CA
In 2014, I was invited by the Nixon Library to present Involuntary Memories at the museum to commemorate the 40th anniversary of President Nixon’s resignation in August, 1974. I added six new drawings based on images from the Nixon Archive, and we redesigned the installation to focus more on Nixon, omitting sections about El Toro and the development of Irvine. As in the Great Park installation, my drawings were interspersed with the excerpts from the interviews with project participants, reflecting their wide range of points of view.
Thank you to Olivia Anastasiadis, Christine Mickey, Ida Kelley, Erik Christman and the rest of the outstanding staff at the Museum and the Archive for making this project happen.
