Arborization is a term that describes the process of nerve cells branching. The first Arborization was an illuminated network for the trees in the garden De Brabandere in Tielt, Belgium, part of the Beelden Buiten 2002/Fractals international outdoor sculpture biennial. Participating artists were asked to consider the European garden as a simultaneously natural and artificial place.
