My life in airports
2012- 2013
Los Angeles International Airport, Terminal One

In an effort to reclaim my lost time of travel, between November 2009 and April 2010 I made over two hundred drawings based on my looping narrative of driving to LAX, putting my shoes on the conveyer belt, watching planes take off, claiming my bags.  These specific yet ubiquitous experiences form a visual diary of the novelty and fatigue of my life in airports.

My exhibition for LAX brings my drawings of iconic Los Angeles buildings from the LAX Master Plan era-Capitol records, Century Plaza Hotel (monuments to the  future that never happened) into a conversation with the more intimate and first person narrative of my travel diary.
